"For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." (1 Cor 15:22 NIV)
God tells us: "In Adam we ALL die." This means that after God had created this wonderful and perfect world and had declared it to be good, Adam - the first man - messed it up. Adam disobeyed God. Sin entered the world and along with sin came death. (Read the first couple of chapters of Genesis for a more complete account)
The hard truth is that our sin is a sentence to death and eternal separation from God. From Adam’s first disobedient act we have been lost in this wilderness, defying God, and wandering. Only through Christ can we be assured that there is a promised land at the end of our journey. "In Christ all will be made alive!" We have Christ’s assurance that we will not be forgotten in this wilderness.
"In my Father's house are many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2 NIV)
We can leave our sins behind and be forgiven. We can be free!
